Misalnya pada sebuah postingan foto atau video yang isinya suasana berduka, namun demi mendapatkan banyak like dan jadi top comment, beberapa pengguna instagram rela merusak suasana seolah-olah postingan tersebut menjadi arena bermainnya untuk mendapatkan banyak like, seperti komentar begini "silakan cek instagram saya, saya tidak jual apa-apa". Komentar tersebut memang lucu dan lain dari yang lain, namun sekejap berubah menjadi buruk ketika ditempatkan di posisi yang salah. Sebab si pemberi komentar seakan tidak menunjukan rasa simpatinya terhadap postingan yang sedang berduka tersebut. Dalam hal ini menjadi top comment seolah memunculkan rasa bangga yang sebanding dengan meraih juara satu lomba makan kelereng bagi sebagian pengguna sepertinya agak sengak jika saya membahas tentang etika dalam bermedia sosial, sebab saya pun bukanlah orang yang selalu baik-baik saja dalam bermedia sosial. namun rasanya tidak salah juga kan apabila saya mencoba menjelaskan bagaimana kejadian yang kurang baik ini? Ya hitung-hitung untuk mengingatkan diri saya sendiri dalam bermedia sosial baik Instagram ataupun aplikasi tidak mempermasalahkan fitur top comment dalam Instagram atau melarang mereka yang berusaha untuk menjadi top comment, sama sekali tidak. Lagipula itu urusan para netizen dan jempol mereka. Saya hanya menjelaskan seperti itu lah keadaan beberapa netizen semenjak adanya fitur top comment dalam Instagram.
